2 weeks in - Losing Slowly
OK, I weighed myself yesterday for the first time since I started seriously limiting my calorie intake.
To no one's surprise, I lost 4 lbs, which averages 2 lbs per week and seems to be in line with everything I've read. By reducing your calories 20%-30% and eating less fat, anyone will lose 1-3 lbs per week.
Confession time: I haven't really started exercising consistently. I have walked like 3 times in the evenings. And that's a lot more than I had been, but 3 times across two weeks is very sporadic and certainly not fulfilling my goal of "exercising effectively and regularly." So I need to work on that. I think I need to start hitting the gym in the mornings again. That really, really worked for me for a while a year ago. I think I went to the gym 2-3 times a week for almost 3 months. I'd like to blame my gym avoidance on all the family health problems last year, but the truth is I had stopped going long before all that exploded.
The problem is that, to go to the gym before work, I have to get up at 5:30 am. And that's even with me taking a shower at work instead of going home to get dressed. I don't mind taking a shower at work. But it's a significant hassle to make sure I have everything packed up the night before (I am in NO condition to pack a bag at 5:30 am.) And I haven't been sleeping well so I'm always tired in the mornings at 6:30 am, let alone at 5 am. It's just a lot easier to sleep in.
But that's what I need to do. There's no doubt about it. Maybe I can get Colleen to help me pack. We can make a game out of it.
Wish me luck!

Laura totally busted you!
Troy, when you feel better, you will get it done. Don't let her bully you! ;)
Don't worry. Things will come together soon and you'll be able to talk yourself into a little exercise.
Yeah, Laura busted on me... just a little. Sheesh!
But guess what I'm doing... going to the gym.
I just thought I would write an amazing motivating thought, but I'm still waiting for someone to motivate me to come up with a thought. Maybe tomorrow. Good job, bud.
