Building a Better Bif

My name is Troy but you can call me Bif.
Have you ever just wanted to reinvent yourself? Have you ever felt like your life has gotten off track? Or feel like your batteries are drained, and you need a jump-start?
That's how I feel.
I need a change.
I need to focus a little more on me and get myself back on track. It's time to start... and finish... some Bif Improvement Projects.

2 weeks in - Losing Slowly

OK, I weighed myself yesterday for the first time since I started seriously limiting my calorie intake.

To no one's surprise, I lost 4 lbs, which averages 2 lbs per week and seems to be in line with everything I've read. By reducing your calories 20%-30% and eating less fat, anyone will lose 1-3 lbs per week.

Confession time: I haven't really started exercising consistently. I have walked like 3 times in the evenings. And that's a lot more than I had been, but 3 times across two weeks is very sporadic and certainly not fulfilling my goal of "exercising effectively and regularly." So I need to work on that. I think I need to start hitting the gym in the mornings again. That really, really worked for me for a while a year ago. I think I went to the gym 2-3 times a week for almost 3 months. I'd like to blame my gym avoidance on all the family health problems last year, but the truth is I had stopped going long before all that exploded.

The problem is that, to go to the gym before work, I have to get up at 5:30 am. And that's even with me taking a shower at work instead of going home to get dressed. I don't mind taking a shower at work. But it's a significant hassle to make sure I have everything packed up the night before (I am in NO condition to pack a bag at 5:30 am.) And I haven't been sleeping well so I'm always tired in the mornings at 6:30 am, let alone at 5 am. It's just a lot easier to sleep in.

But that's what I need to do. There's no doubt about it. Maybe I can get Colleen to help me pack. We can make a game out of it.

Wish me luck!

Weigh In: 344 lbs.

I weighed myself and I'm down to 344 lbs.

It was a long walk down into the cold basement in just my undershorts, but that's what I was wearing when I weighed myself the first time, so I want to be consitent.
